"Sometimes you want to upset an audience so you can engage them. I've done so-called Hollywood films, and I know that it's all about wanting the audience to feel upbeat, give them a happy ending. But they also like complete stories. If your story's complete it doesn't have to have a happy ending."  - Morgan Freeman

Unhappy anniversary

Today is the SIXTH anniversary of my fateful life-changing injury.
Six years is a long time for constant chronic pain to be affecting me.

I'm kind of surprised I haven't totally cracked by now...

I wish all the time that I was better and I am really working hard to help my body be a stronger and more durable machine.
I'm going to the gym a lot, although not every single day because my back needs rest time sometimes.

I'm working with a personal trainer who is not only trying to help me get my body stronger, but help me look amazing nekkid again someday.
I'll post my workout schedule soon.  They say that it's all about diligence and motivation.  Determination to do whatever I can to help it along.  I am in a better place than I was a few years ago, but it is such a slow process that feels like a plateau most of the time.

I often get very frustrated and honestly could use a good counselor someday...

We finally have a new updated website!

I worked for about 3 months with our awesome designer to  help create the look and feel of our site, and Tate worked with her on the technical aspects.  We started with a certain look which just wasn't working and the inner-perfectionist inside of me was so frustrated.  The theme which became the final product just came to me one day and when I pitched it to her she knew exactly what theme I was trying to go for.
It has taken a little bit of time to get here but I think it really shows what we're about and is different enough to stand apart for the wedding community to take notice.  (I also get to pimp some of the conceptual art we love to make.)

Things are slowly getting better with my freaky health... either that or I'm just getting better at dealing with the weirdness. My arthritis stuff feels better in my hands, wrists, and forearms but not so much in the knees, hips, toes, and ankles.

My skin issues are still in the sensitive zone but I was able to go to the State Fair today with Tate, Kirk, and Jason. I figured that I would get a lot of walking done which is good exercise for me. I really needed it.

We saw Weird Al and sat the grassy knoll in the cold cold wind.

We got to pet donkeys and llamas, pot bellied pigs and wallabys. They were amazing and looked uncomfortable.

I fell in love with a deer who kept trying to eat people's shirts and the softest baby goats who I wanted to smuggle home out the back gate until they jumped up on me. Goats are crazy!

We saw the "Back To The Future Delorean" and "Herbie the Love Bug".

We saw teeny newborn chickens hatching out from their eggs. (Aww.)

We saw goths, emo posers, and folks with missing teeth. It was 1/2 price day, so Sacramento was in rare form.

We saw a woman with giant long thick yellow fingernails on only one hand who worked in the food service area.

I ran into Kat & Jordan twice, Kirk's mom twice, and some old friends whom I haven't seen in three or four years!

We saw battered deep fried Spam, Twinkies, Snickers, catfish and etc... and heard the arteries pre-clogging up of the fair-goers who stood in line to order those foods.

I broke my "no refined sugar" rule and allowed myself four bites of a cinnamon bun and a cup of Merlinos orange/lemon icy treat. It was absolutely delicious and interesting to find that my sugar tolerance is really low. It was overpowering and made me a little hyper. (I had a taste of what Mars went through on Saturday night!)

What is it about putting a stick through your food that makes it all the more enticing? It's like food of the future! In the future there will only be food in pill capsule form or on a stick for easy handling.
Soup will definitely be a problem, the soup pills just won't be as good as the real thing...

Ooh, I found the perfect place to wear my beautiful hat, Mickibeans!
(They sounded interested in maybe selling your fancy bustles and hats there, if you're interested.)

Things have been tougher than usual for me lately, and I want to thank those of you who sent me some love last week.
I survived the majority of my week not sitting up or walking easily and am doing much better now.

We had tickets for Teatro ZinZanni on Saturday and even though I love the show, I was not in great spirits knowing that I had to sit in the car for 3 hours each way (because that is how slow Tate's dad drives) and also having to sit through the wonderful show (which I do love) for a few more hours. The point of the rambling is all the sitting, which is something I wasn't able to do very easily because of the amount of pain I've been in... but I figured I might as well look good when we went so I got to pull out some fun things and created a new outfit for my mini top hat and even got compliments all over the place there for it!

Amani and I were the belles of the balls this week, all thanks to our girl and her mighty Wandlung skills!

Tate was the first person called up on stage and made me swoon at his handsomeness. He got to test the "love spice" for the soup with some pretty bitch from San Leandro. :)

We all want the world to be a better place but next time you see a piece of litter, pick it up.
Next time you can hold a door, hold it.
Next time that you can let a person that's driving aggressively pass you, let him pass.
You never know, maybe he's rushing to the hospital to say his very last goodbye.
It all starts with you.

In my vehicle, sometimes I tend to yell obscenities at drivers who I feel aren't paying enough attention. I remind myself that I need to realize that they're human and sometimes humans are just plain dumb and myopic.

I usually feel bad after I pass them and realize that they're elderly.
It doesn't excuse their behavior but I feel bad for calling them jackasses and such...

This weekend is just what my soul needed.

I want to take a moment and thank all of my friends who were able to make it to the social circles this weekend. I'm glad that we had that extra day to further relax and unwind. It was too bad that T8 wasn't able to make it to all of the visiting but I know that he enjoyed what he was able to take part in.

There is much to be done in the name of Burn but every little step we take to help really helps. I am developing a real addiction to buying cool fabric, even though I don't know how to sew yet... how crazy is that?

Buttons were pushed... my gumdropbuttons are always welcome to be pushed by those who wish to push them.

I want to thank Mars for pulling me into that pool. The truth is that I resisted at first and then became Brer Rabbit which is always a fun role to play. I guess my threats are full of water.

Thank you to the few of you who gave me some good advice. (It's already working...)

I loved playing Cranium with y'all. Never played before and would love to play again sometime.

By the way, what is it about Rapping Grannies that makes it so you just can't look away?? It is a train wreck.

Is the new Hairspray gonna blow?

It's weird to think that John Waters was a little kid once...
I think I can almost picture him, without the thin pencil moustache, of course.
